Perched in a Tree Bundle Card

Perched in a Tree Bundle

I ended up being really pleased with how my Perched in a Tree Bundle card turned out! I confess I don’t feel confident colouring in bird images to look realistic. However using watercolour pencils I gave it a shot and look at my robin! I love him! He’s a very plump looking robin!

Using the watercolour pencils allowed me to build up the colour levels and add in extra colours to create the shading and appearance of fluffy feathers. A blender pen was used lightly to smooth out some of the pencil strokes but not all of them.

The Aspen Tree dies are part of the bundle and one of the dies cuts out the bird image beautifully. No fussy cutting required! The dies also cut out the branch image. The best die in the set creates the lovely tree trunk background image. There are also the detailed leaf dies that die cut the leaf shape as well as adding the embossed leaf veins.

In the Perched in a Tree stamp set is a spotty die which I chose to use to create a snowy sensation behind the tree trunks. The ink is White Craft ink.

Something different to try is stamping the greeting and then die cutting the leaf shape around it. Adds a nice touch don’t you think?

If you are ever unsure about trying something overcome that urge to avoid trying and give it a go, you will surprise yourself! So give the Perched in a Tree Bundle a try!
