Mixed Media Florals DSP Idea

Spread the love

I adore any Stampin’ Up! Papers that have black and white line images and the Mixed Media Florals DSP is one of those packs. Why do I love them? Because I love colouring the images using Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers, or watercolour pencils.

Here is my latest card showing off the coloured images. For this one I used watercolour pencils. All that then needed to be added was a quick sentiment form the Mixed Labels stamp set and the card was completed.

A quick tip for you when colouring with watercolour pencils. When colouring larger areas try not to use the tip of the pencil. This will give you a scratchy appearance to your colouring.

Instead let your pencils blunt down from a sharp tip and use the side of the pencil to colour the areas required. You will get a smoother finish and find the process a lot more fun.

Once coloured in you can choose to blend the applied colour with a blender pen or Aqua painter brush. I actually didn’t for this card as I was happy with the applied colour as it was. The shading on the Designer Series paper made the appearance look satisfactory to me.

If you are stumped as to what to do with the black and white images in your paper packs give this a go. Why not order the Mixed Media Florals DSP pack and try out this idea? There is only the one black & white outline design in the pack, leaving you with 11 other paper designs to create with.
