Check out these Envelope Flap fun fold cards we made in my classes in February. As soon as I saw this card style shared by a fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, Karen Titus, I knew I had to share this fun fold card with my class attendees. They loved the concept and had a great time creating the two cards you see in my blog today.
This style lends itself to portrait or landscape orientation which makes it a versatile card style to create with. I personally prefer the portrait orientation so the card can be stood up for display.
Below is the card above when open.
The boat stamp and oars are from Adventurous Journey. This set is in the Annual Catalogue and I have had a great time working with it and have a lot more ideas too on how to use it. The designs in this set also work well with the By the Bays papers from the Mini Catalogue. See another Adventurous Journey card by clicking here.
Below is the landscape version of the envelope flap fun fold card. The bundle used to create this card is Sentimental Park. Look how the greeting die fits perfectly into the corner slits of the floral die cut piece. The paper for the envelope flap is from the matching Regency Park 6×6 papers.
The floral images on the Basic White card have been two step stamped using images from the Sentimental Park stamp set. My customers thought that I had used papers for that section and were surprised to learn it had been stamped.
Below is the inside of the card above. When selecting paper for the envelope flap two things to bear in mind. Firstly the direction of the pattern on the paper. You need a multidirectional one for best effect on the card front. Secondly you don’t want anything to garish on the underside. You want the colours to coordinate with the cardstock you are using.
I have so enjoyed creating this card style that I went on and created more! Below is one I made this week using the Hello Irresistible Collection. This new collection of products are now available in the Stampin’ Up! Online Store as part of the newly released Online Exclusive products. See the new items here.
The embossing folder used on the card above is also a new Online Exclusive release. They come in a pack of three – Basics 3D Embossing Folders. So some lovely new products to go and acquaint yourself with over in the Online Exclusives section of the Stampin’ Up! Online Store.
I love this card style and I reckon you will be seeing a lot more samples of it around as more and more card makers try it out.
Happy Stamping!
