Have you tried the new blending brushes from Stampin’Up!? This card was my first time using these brushes and I am very impressed! They make the process so much easier than creating a blended background using sponges. These brushes are so soft and they pick up the colour really well off the inkpad. One suggestion to make pickup easier, make sure your inkpad is well inked up. This will speed up the blending process.
For my first attempt I chose Old Olive, Bumblebee and Seaside Spray inkpads. The brushes washed out well after usage although I think I will get another set of brushes to allow me to have a brush for each hue of colours, eg one for reds, greens etc. The brushes come in packs of three and are very well priced at $21 Aust for the three.
To finish off my blended background I stamped one of the Sale-a-bration stamp set images from Corner Bouquet and added another Sale-a-bration set Heal Your Heart. The font used for the sentiments in this set are a lovely cursive style. Some Matte Black dots finished off the card.
I would highly recommend getting some of these blending brushes into your essentials tool kit. They will be well utilised as a method for applying colour to your creations.
Happy Stamping!
Janine
