I love making this six point spindle card style! I shared this card style at our Ballarat 35 for 35 event back in July. I recently ran a class on how to make these cards and my attendees loved it. Now that the class is done I can share them with you.
This sample shows off the lovely One Horse Open Sleigh 6×6 papers from the Online Exclusives range. This particular spindle card will not close flat to post as I created it as a decorative piece. I didn’t want to slice down the middle of the papers and ruin the paper design, so I ran them across the middle seam and stretched the paper to reach with a margin the outer panel edges.
From silver foil I die cut snow flakes to decorate the scenes using the Chic die set. The greetings on each scene came from various Christmas stamp sets i have and I stamped them in Early Espresso ink. Adding some Festive Pearls in silver was the final touch.
In class my attendees made this card up as a calendar because there are 12 panels, so perfect for a calendar. We used the Stargazing papers. You can use the preprinted calendar packs or do as I did and print off a calendar form the computer onto Basic White card.
Some Rhinestone gems finished off this calendar. The panel under the calendar is Textured 12 x 12 Shimmer Paper.
If you plan to mail your six point spindle card, create a wallet/belly band for it.
I have more samples from my presentation in July to share with you in my next post. If you would like to see how the event went see the posts here.
This is a brilliant card to make, so give it a try. If you would like a tutorial on the six point spindle card, I have one available for $5 (Aust).
Happy Creating!
