Begonia Belle Product of the month

Welcome to the July Product of the Month Blog hop featuring the Begonia Belle stamp set. I have to admit this was not an easy set to create with! I wasted so much card and ink trying to get a good image or a colour combination that worked well. I have found in the past I don’t have good success with the realistic type stamp sets produced by Stampin’ Up! and it was the same this time around with this set.

However I got a card created eventually and here it is!

I ended up using a combination of Strawberry Slush and Barely Blush inks. Finding the right position for the second layer stamp took a few attempts and then getting a good imprint with the second image was a challenge too. I ended up using a Blender Pen to smooth out the inconsistent ink application. I don’t know what I was doing wrong but it was a continual problem with each attempt! On the other hand the leaves are a breeze to stamp and layer stamp over! I used Garden Green and Soft Sea Foam for them.

If you are not a fan of fussy cutting then this stamp set may not be one for you. To get a good image on a card I found the stamped image does need to be cut out and raised in order to get a result I was happy with.

I love the layout I chose! I find creating layouts using the Party Banners dies always gives me a card I am happy with! They are pricey but a great investment! Save up your Reward Dollars to get them, you won’t regret it! I’ve used Basic black and the polka dot paper is from the Beautiful Ordinary Life paper pack.

If you have the July Product of the Month please share your creations with me and hopefully I can learn why I had so many issues using the two begonia bloom stamps. I will be interested to see everyone else’s creations in this month’s blog hop!

Happy Stamping!
