Here are some more ideas on how to create different backgrounds using the painters tape technique. I love playing around with this way of creating fun backgrounds and trying different colour combinations.

For a totally random look try laying the tape across the card piece on different angles and builing up the colour until you are happy with the result. Here I used Coastal Cabana, Pink Pirouette, and Crumb Cake. A colour combo I got from the Colour Coach cards.

Now how is this for a tartan look?
The appearance is always going to be different every time you do this technique. Colours this time are Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Crisp Canteloupe.
This makes a great male card technique.
