Using your papers for backgrounds on your card fronts is a terrific way to create a unique look to your card. It’s also a great way to use up your papers so you can order more! The papers from the Texture Chic Designer Series Papers have some fabulous designs to add to your cards.
That is a paper design behind the stamped images on the card above. I have done nothing to that paper. The stamped images are on the paper. No need to grunge the paper yourself. A perfect match to the stamps and dies from the coordinating bundle, Season of Chic. What a good way to add background interest to your card without any effort.
I wasn’t over the moon about the Season of Chic bundle however once I started creating with it and added in the lovely Texture Chic papers I was so pleased with the cards I made! The card was finished off with some Milky Dots. You can find these in the current Mini Catalogue. There are four colours in the pack . I used the white ones on this card.
If choosing a patterned paper for your card front sends you into a state of indecision, then try using a variegated tone on tone paper like the Distressed Gold papers. These papers are also a part of the Texture Chic Suite Collection. For the card above the papers create a background to show off the stamped and die cut images. Whereas for the first card the papers are part of the overall design tying in with the stamped images.

The cross hatch die cut from the Chic dies will make a terrific background piece for scrap book pages as well as cards. Adding your card piece to an Adhesive Sheet prior to die cutting will make the task of adhering the die cut piece a lot easier to your project.
So get to and use your papers. A new Annual Catalogue is coming up and that means a lovely new selection of papers to add to your wish list. If you use up the papers you currently have, you can justify getting new ones!
Happy Crafting,
Janine
