This is the last card using the painters tape technique that I will show off on my blog – promise! I just had to put this one on display as I love the colour combination and how well the whole card turned out. You can create so many interesting backgrounds using this simple and easy technique.
Painters tape is low tack tape available in hardware stores ( or in your partners tool kit!). To create the background tear off a strip of tape a bit longer than the card piece you are decorating. Place tape over open Stampin’Up! inkpad. Our inkpads are lovely and juicy for this technique! Press tape sticky side down lightly on inkpad to apply ink to tape. Lift off, check if happy with amount of ink on tape, if so, place onto card and press over tape lightly. Remove from card. Repeat in different colours and create wonderful backgrounds!
One word of warning – don’t leave the tape for too long on your card piece as it will stick and remove the top layer of card. Found that out the hard way!
Colours used are – Pear Pizzazz, Smoky Slate and Pool Party.
I love the font of the Million & One thank you stamp. It comes in a set of two stamps and is designed to pair beautifully with the Simply Sent kit – Simply Fabulous.
You can find all these products in my online store. Click the “Shop Now” tab to see them.
Enjoy playing with this fun technique!
Cheers!
