How many times have you looked at your pack of vellum and wondered what techniques can I use this for? We buy product after seeing something amazing done with it and then forget what the amazing technique was! I bet you have done that because I know I used to do that when I visited craft shows before I became a Stampin’Up! Demonstrator. Ask me why I bought a whole bag full of alcohol inks that I have never touched since buying them!!!!
Well today I have a great way to use your vellum doing a technique called dry vellum embossing. This is dry embossing as it does not involve embossing powder, ink or a heat gun. This technique requires vellum, an embossing folder and a Big Shot or Stampin’Cut & Emboss machine.
Cut your vellum to the required size to fit in your embossing folder. For my card I chose Stampin’Up! Dandelion 3D embossing folder. Run it through your embossing machine and look at the effect you get! You can leave the vellum plain or add colour like I have for my card.
To add colour turn your vellum over and add colour using markers or Stampin’Blends, Doing this makes a huge difference to the appearance of the vellum. You get the full effect once you overlay the vellum on your choice of background coloured card.
Go and have a look at your embossing folders and see what you can create.
Happy Stamping!
