Do you use your stamps on your patterned papers? This was something I never ever did basically because it never entered my mind to do it or maybe Stampin’Up! wasn’t creating papers suitable for this technique. Over the last year or so there have been some terrific background style pattern papers released. Think In Good Taste DSP or In Color and Colour Family 6×6 papers. Generally there will one pattern in each pack of papers that will have a lighter shade pattern that is not too “busy”.

The Sale-a-bration papers – Oh So Ombre are perfect for this method of stamping. These 6×6 papers have four colour ways in two designs. The ombre papers in this set make creating a card with an ombre background so easy! No blending, just cut to size, stamp your greeting/image and done! Better still the papers are FREE with a $90 Aust Stampin’Up! product order!

The card I am showing here used the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set. The large greeting in this set is all that is needed on the card front. The rest is window dressing to create the card you wish for the special person you have in mind. I teamed up Bermuda Bay and Gorgeous Grape card for my creation and to finish the card off I added the new Opal Rounds which can be found in the current Mini catalogue.

So if you find yourself in “What can I do ” mode think about giving this option a try with your papers.

Happy Stamping!
