Following on from my last post here are some more shoe box swaps from my recent team day. Doing this activity with a group of friends or your team is a fun interactive activity, one we really enjoy as a team. The card above was created by Jan who found inspiration on Pinterest for the idea of placing a piece of coloured vellum behind the globe section of the lantern. The bundle used is Lighting the Way. The vellum was coloured using a Stampin’ Blend pen and placed behind the lantern. The vellum was then trimmed around the globe section of the lantern and tabs created top and bottom as anchor points to adhere the vellum to the die cut. A very lovely card design!
The best part of a shoe box swap? You get to play with stamps and dies you don’t have! As was my case for the Lighting the Way bundle. It is definitely on my wish list now and I hope it will carry over into the Annual Catalogue so I can justify ordering it!
Below is Rosie’s card. Rosie used the Share a Milkshake Bundle. I’ve made a few cards with this bundle and I really enjoy creating with it. I love Rosie’s card design! Shoe box swaps let you think about seeing and using products different ways. Rosie has used the reverse side of the Cane Weave embossing folder for her card. It looks so different to the Cane Weave design creating another versatile pattern to think about when looking for an embossing folder pattern suitable to a card you are working on.
The Love Cats stamp set was the set of choice for two of my team. Just like Silly Goose was on the previous blog post. See that one here. Sheri combined her Love Cats image with the Country Floral Lane papers to create a super pretty card. When using solid design stamps it pays to use your stamparatus to stamp the image. That way you can reink your stamp and stamp again until you get complete coverage or depth of colour to the stamped image. Certainly a good idea if using the photopolymer stamps.
Lynette gave us a great version of the Love Cats stamps too. See the difference in the depth of colour of the stamped image? The one above was done with the stamp mounted on a Stamparatus. The one below is a straight first impression stamp image. The heart stamps are from the Country Bouquet stamp set. There is a matching punch to punch them out too, the Country Bouquet punch. Get them both as a bundle and save 10% on the individual pricing.
My final shoe box swap card to share is Bev’s. Another set I don’t have in my collection. Now I have a card to show off on my displays and posts! Enjoy the Rhythm is the stamp set. A super set to use if you have musical friends or family members you create cards for. The Layering Diorama dies make a great backing for the stamped and coloured image. Keep the music theme going by using the Merry Melody embossing folder as a background.
So there they all are. I have nine new cards to add to my collection, plus I got to create with three stamp sets I don’t have in my stash of sets. So give this activity a try so you end up with more shoe box swap cards to share with friends, family and customers.
