Inlaid embossing is a technique is great way to get another use out of your embossing folders. Basically you die cut out your chosen images. Then you adhere them to your cut to size card mat using an adhesive like Tombow (mulitpurpose Liquid adhesive). Once the piece has dried place the card mat into your embossing folder and run it through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. The embossed piece looks like the die cuts have been inlaid into the card mat. Another name for this technique is Faux Fabric.
This technique is a fun way to use your dies and embossing folders. A finer image embossing folder works best like the Gingham one I have used here or other times I have used the Tasteful Texture embossing folder. See a card I made using the Tasteful Texture folder by clicking here.
The dies I used are one half of the Sweet Conversations bundle, Sweet hearts dies. I glued the die cut heart shapes to Shimmery White card and then embossed it using the Gingham embossing folder.
Do you like the greeting tag I created? The picture below shows the greeting underneath when you flip up the top tag.
How sweet is that! You could use this as a Valentine’s Day card. Yes it is time to be thinking about creating your Valentine’s cards for your special person. Also these cards are lovely just to give to a good friend at any time of the year to show you appreciate them.
I tied the tag using linen thread to the ribbon Faux Linen which is also part of this collection of products.
The stamps are Sweet Conversations stamp set the other half of the same name bundle. I was planning on using the stamps with the matching papers that are part of the Sweet Talk Suite. These papers are so bright and colourful but after looking high and low for them I checked my orders and found out I had forgotten to add them into my order!!!
So next time I post about this suite I will show off those cute papers. In the meantime have a go at trying the Inlaid embossing technique.
Happy Stamping!
Janine
