The Flight & Airy Designer Series Papers are so pretty! They are proving to be a very popular choice with my customers when they select their free Sale-a-bration item. I made these cards below to share with my newsletter readers back in December to get them excited about the new products coming their way and also to show off how to incorporate die cuts into their card making.
I personally love this card! It turned out beautifully! I have used the Patchwork Pieces dies to die cut my selected Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper. Spreading the die cuts out slightly allows the coordinating colour card mat to show and adds that bit of extra dimension to the card. The mat for the die cut pieces is 3 1/2 x 5 inches.
The greeting and the punch used are from the new Mini Catalogue – Heartfelt Hexagon bundle. Have you seen the embellishments before? They are an Online Exclusive item – Dragonflies & Birds adhesive backed embellishments.
The other die in the Patchwork Pieces die set is the one I used for the card above. I framed the die over the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper paper design I wanted to use in order to get the best placement of the two birds. I didn’t want the die cutting going through the birds. You will get extra scrap paper doing this however it is worth it for the better appearance of your card.
The Deckled Circles dies were used for the greeting. These are now an Online exclusive product so will remain available while stocks last. If they prove to be a popular item they will be restocked if stock starts getting low but only if they are being ordered at a good rate. Te greeting itself is from the stamp set Inked & Tiled. One of my favourite stamp sets for greetings as there are several to choose from in the set and they are a good size for cards where you don’t want a huge greeting hiding the rest of the card design.
My final card showed off not only the Flight & Airy Designer Series Papers but also the Nested Essentials dies. A great set to use for layering as there are four different sized dies for the three shapes in the die set. The colours used in the Flight & Airy papers work so well together to create a pretty soft pastel palette. Adding the extra layer of card under the strip of paper makes the paper and die cut images really pop off the card front.
Try these cards out using your pack of Flight & Airy Designer Series Papers or try the layouts out using papers you have on hand. Either way have fun crafting! If you would like to see some other card ideas I shared recently please click here.
