Stampin’Up! Easter Promise Sponged Background Card

When I was writing yesterdays post about sponged backgrounds I decided to try out the Easter Promise stamp set with the technique. I felt the crocus clump stamp would work well for this style of card.

This time I have sponged a Whisper White card strip and then mounted it onto a Basic Black card strip. The ink colours used for sponging were Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather and Old Olive.

The Easter greeting came from Itty Bitty Greetings, punched out using the Classic Label punch. I always like to back shadow this punch piece with another card colour punched out with the same punch. I cut that coloured card piece in half and then adhere it to the back of the neutral card piece. A strip of Whisper White Flax ribbon sits behind the sentiment.

Three gold sequins from the Peaceful Poppies sequins collection finish off the card and give it some bling.

Here are some step by step images for you.

Start sponging with lightest colour
Randomly sponge lightest colour first
Sponge next colour and finish with darkest colour, then blend it all with the lightest colour
Stamp your images with black Staz – On ink

Enjoy trying out this technique!
