To create Garden Walk Papers notecards I used a technique that I shared some years ago when we had another set of pretty floral 6×6 papers. That post is still the top visited post on my blog! See it here! It is no fuss, no waste method of using your 6×6 papers to create a stack of notecards for thank yous, invites, birthday cards. You can find these papers in the new Mini Catalogue that was released this week. Or click on the highlighted text here to see them.
The reason there is no waste from your 6×6 papers? They are cut into 3×3 inch squares. So you will get four cards from each sheet of 6×6 Garden Walk Designer Series Paper. There are 20 notecards in a pack along with matching envelopes. Make up a batch for yourself or give as a gift to someone.
I chose matching colours to go behind each paper piece. You can always match colours of the papers by checking the back of the pack of papers you are creating with. Listed there are the names of the colours used on the papers, thus making card and ink selection a breeze!
My chosen card mat colours were Garden Green and Pretty Peacock. They were cut to 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 inch to go behind the papers. There are eight pretty floral designs in the Garden Walk 6×6 paper pack. There is a poinsettia pattern that will also work well for Christmas cards!
Of course this technique will work just as well for your 12×12 papers too. Keep the design you choose to something fine not big and bold as you lose the definition of the paper pattern if your chosen design to use is too big.
So are you going to go and create your own Garden Walk papers notecards or use the concept for papers you already have? I hope so! Craft up a storm!
