My latest project was inspired by a fellow Australian Stampin’Up! demonstrator Linda Dalke. When I saw her creating these cards I was hooked line and sinker! I had the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set sitting on my desk waiting for ink and this was exactly the project to excite me to use this stamp set for the first time.
Below is my version of Linda’s card.
How are these cards created? It is very easy actually. Using a Stampin’Up! Blender pen and Whisper White Craft ink to blend the colour onto the stamped images. No embossing required! Unlike this technique which I had planned to do with this stamp set, Whitewash Flowers which I did back in 2013.
Add some Whisper White Craft ink to the lid of your ink pad or squeeze your ink pad tightly when closed to transfer ink to the lid. Using your Blender pen pick up some ink and staying inside the stamped lines blend the white ink onto the stamped image. It was fun and so relaxing to do.
For the above version I stamped Night of Navy ink onto Misty Moonlight cardstock. For the version below I stamped the images with Pumpkin Pie ink onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
To finish off my cards I stamped the greeting from the Celebrate Sunflowers onto Shimmery White card and added a strip off the same colour card as the card base. This was popped up with Dimensionals. To add a bit of bling I used some self adhesive In Colour Enamel Dots to the Misty Moonlight card and Elegant Faceted Gems also self adhesive, to the Pumpkin Pie card. These Elegant Faceted Gems are so pretty!
I am so in love with these cards I plan to try out creating more of them in different colours. I will have to use darker colours as anything too pale will lose the Whisper White blending.
So try something new and thankyou Linda for the fabulous idea!
