Painted Illusions Product of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Painted Illusions February Product of the Month Blog Hop. The Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper pack is a delightful mix of patterns. The pack contains 3 sheets of four different designs, and the colours featured are Darling Duckling, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Petal Pink, and Pretty Peacock. A lovely mix of colours that work beautifully together.

My pack arrived this week and I immediately got to work to create a couple of cards to share for the blog hop and for my Weekly Tutorial that goes out to my mailing list readers. My love is quick and easy cards so that is what I created!

You are getting a sneak peek of an upcoming March Online exclusive with this card! That pretty Lazy Daisy embossing folder will be avilable to order from March 3. I’ve added some Misty Moonlight ink using a blending brush to reduce the starkness of the Basic White embossed mat. Spotlight on Nature circle dies were used to die cut the Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper to create my focal point on the card front.

My greeting is from one of my favourite sets, Wonderful Thoughts and the matching Wonderful Thoughts dies. I get so much mileage from this matching set of stamps and dies. Do check it out if you have not had a look at them.

The greeting looked a bit lost so I added a snippet of Misty Moonlight ribbon behind it, then finished off with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

The Simply Beautiful bundle was open on my desk so I got to and made another card featuring the Painted Illusions Designer Series Papers. I had been creating cards using this bundle to share in my weekly newsletter so it made sense to make another card featuring the bundle to use as my weekly card tutorial that I send out every Friday to my readers.

The swirly background made a perfect foil for the stamped flower and leaves. I softened the stamped image by using a blender pen to draw colour from the ink into the images. This technique not only softens the image but also makes it a bit blurry. It’s fun to do so give it a try.

The Painted Illusions papers are well worth the $9 investment that you will pay if you place a qualifying $125 order for Stampin’ Up! products. Currently the December and January Products of the Month have not sold out so if you didn’t nab them you can elect this month to select one of those in your qualifying order.
