The Sweetest Star punch makes the cutest Christmas wreath! This is my version of the one in the September – December Mini Catalogue. It did take a few attempts to work out the folding of the punched star to get the raised effect. Basically you score from star point directly across to the opposite recess between points. To fold, pinch either side of the star point and repeat all the way around the star. Easy once you know how!!!
I did try adhering the stars together but soon decide a base was required for stability. I cut the largest circle from the Deckled Circles dies and then cut an insert using the third smaller die from the biggest one. Another option used by one of my team was to draw a circle around a large plate then place a smaller plate inside and draw around it. Then cut out the centre and around the outer circle.
To adhere the stars I used two foam Dimensionals stacked on top of each other to fix the centre of the punched star to the base piece.
The greeting comes from the matching stamp set – Sweetest Star. Save yourself some money by ordering the Sweetest stamp set and the Sweetest Star Punch as a bundle. That way you save 10% on the individual costs of each item.
I finished off the wreath with a new product that will be available from November 5 in the Online Exclusives, Gold Twisted Thread. Find it here in the Online Exclusives from Tuesday. I made a hanger from the same gold thread.
