The Stippled Roses Bundle went straight onto my wish list as I love any stamps that feature roses! I know floral stamps are not everyone’s cup of tea or fine outline images that need to be coloured in. How about trying the following ideas with floral stamps or fine outline stamps.
The dies in the Stippled Roses Bundle will die cut the stamped images so a big tick for easiness there! A quick way to add colour to an outline stamp to stamp it onto coloured card stock. Use an ink in a darker shade than the card stock you are using. Here I have used Crumb Cake card and inked the stamp with Early Espresso ink. The fine details on this stamp from the Stippled Roses Bundle means it looks lovely with out any additional work to be done.
Adding an embossed back ground strip of Early Espresso card behind the image adds further interest to the card front. The one I have used on my sample is Cane Weave. Add your greeting which is also part of the Stippled Roses stamp set. Stamp it on one of those leftover card strips we all seem to accumulate and diagonally trim the ends. Pop it up on Dimensionals and all that’s left to do is to add some bling.
Now if you would like to step it up a bit, how about trying some very easy colouring? I have used a blender pen and White Craft Ink to add a subtle bit of colour to the roses in the image. No need to be pedantic about shading the stamped image has all that, just add in the white craft ink with the blender pen and smooth it across any uninked areas in the rose images.
Die cut the image and then while at your Cut’ N Emboss machine die cut some vellum leaves to pop in behind the rose die cut. Add all of this to an embossed card mat. This is the Sale-a-bration embossing folder from the Softly Sophisticated Bundle. Yours free with a $180 order during Sale-a-bration. Add the greeting and some embellishments and you are done!
Colouring with a blender pen and White craft ink is one of my favourite techniques. it is also a terrific technique to try if you are not confident in adding shades of colour to an image. Give it a try!
