One Layout Five Different Cards Revisited

My blog post titled One Layout Five Different Cards from last year is my most popular Pinterest pin, so I have done a revisit and redone the layout using products available currently. See the previous post here.

I have also been receiving emails requesting the dimensions used on my layout. I searched for the samples but I think I must have given them away and I couldn’t find if I recorded the dimensions anywhere in my notes. So another great reason to revisit the one layout five different cards!

So first off we have the Storybook Gnomes papers and Gnomes dies.

Here are the dimensions –

Card base is standard 10.5 x 29.7cm (half an A4 cut in portrait position). If you prefer to cut your card in landscape the base card is 14.85 x 21cm.

Card mat – 10 x 14.35cm

Card/paper strips  – 4 pieces – 9.5 x 3.3 cm

Add embellishments and greetings as desired.

If you work in inches, cut your standard card base. Cut a mat half an inch smaller on all sides.

Cut a scrap paper piece a half inch smaller top and sides to the card mat. Cut it into four equal strips. These will be too big so gradually trim down until you can get all four strips fitting onto your card mat with equal spaces on all sides. This is your required size for your card creating. Sorry I don’t work in inches and our A4 card is different to the US. Hope you can work this out from there.

This time around I mixed up the orientation of the cards so some portrait and new this time some in landscape orientation. This card using the Boughs of Holly papers is my favourite of the five cards!

Back to portrait orientation for the Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder version. I went whimsical with the colour choices for this card too. What do you think?

Back to landscape orientation with the Splendid Day papers version.

The final card in this set uses the Painted Christmas papers.

Once you have the basic layout you can embellish with die cut greetings or punches. The Decorative Circle punch was used for the card above. Add ribbon or adhesive dots, sequins, rhinestones or what ever takes your fancy.

A great layout to use up those scraps of papers we wend up with too.

It’s been fun revisiting the one layout five cards idea and I hope you have enjoyed it too!

Happy Stamping!
