Stampin’Up! South Pacific Convention 2015 Day One

Spread the love
The first day of Convention dawned with showers but occasionally there was blue skies! Each day to get to the Convention Centre we walked past these artistic koalas painted in different designs and characters. These koalas are located all around the Gold Coast. That’s the Gold Coast Convention Centre across the road.

Sara Douglas opened our first session and she was fabulous!

Our first All attendee Giveaway was a roll of Fast Fuse with a sticker reminder about the upcoming OnStage events. Best news – we have an OnStage Local happening in Melbourne in November! Definitely plan on being there!

The lovely Bonnie Farley had the fun job of taking us on the new catalogue tour. There were soooo many lovely new stamps and products that my wishlist was huge before I’d even got my hands on my own hard copy! Here are the pretty new Incolours for 2015-2017. Love the name Tip Top Taupe.

The new kits in the catalogue are amazing. Here is one of the cards from the Tin of Cards Project Kit. Love this kit!

The Water Wings stamp set looks lovely here done in the new In Colours.

Carrie Cudney shared some gorgeous projects created with the new In Colours. I wish I had the time and space to show the all to you but then nothing will be a surprise for my Catalogue Launch! Below is the ten current 2014-2016 and 2015-2017 In Colours all lined up together. They go so well when all placed side by side.

The Demonstrator Resource Centre had displays galore showing off new products and Demonstrator Booths. My roomie Sandra Collett was one of the demos doing a demonstration. She did a great display showing off the new embossing folders.  The new Designer Series Papers are divine and I know this rose print is going to feature very soon on one of my creations! Love it!!!!

Swaps are always the order of the first day of Convention! I had only 27 to swap after an unfortunate spill accident on my desk where I waterlogged half my swaps. It was not a pretty sight!  You can see my swap here  I love this swap I received from one of my class ladies Sharni Green.

Our team organised a lovely evening dinner and we arranged to do a Team swap based on two inch square samplers. Theme was “Party” to be created in Brights colours. Here is our collection of swaps – 40 of them! Can’t wait to get them framed. My swap was created using “Be the Star’ stamp set, stamped in Tempting Turquoise and Bermuda Bay. A lot of fussy cutting to create it. Four layers of stars for 40 samples – you do the math! They looked fabulous!

By this time of night we were experiencing a major downpour and South East Queensland was preparing for  floods. It rained and rained and rained!
Day two to come very soon!
Cheers
Janine
