My Stampin’ Up! team, the Inksationals, got together for a Stampin’ Up! shoe box swap. We love these get togethers as we spend the day crafting each others cards. The memo for this swap was using products from the January – April Mini Catalogue. If you don’t know what a shoe box swap is, let me explain. Each member attending designs a card using the mentioned catalogue products. They then cut kits for the number of team members attending and then they place in a box the kits and all the products required to make that card. We had ten team members attending so nine kits required. You already have your card so no kit required.
At the end of the day each team member goes home with nine new card designs using products they may not have ordered or don’t plan to order, but now they have a sample to share with their friends and customers. It may even make them decide that now that stamp set needs to go on their wish list!
My card is the one above. We plan to have the card designs relatively quick and easy to put together so we can get through making all the cards on the day. If die cutting or dry embossing required we encourage these to be already done and included in the kit. I used the Silly Goose stamp set. It is such a fun set to create with! I love the sayings!!!
Nicole used the Silly Goose stamp set too for her lovely card. This card design can be transferred to other stamp sets so a great layout to have in our collections. The embossing folder is Into the Clouds.
Next up is Nicola’s Easter card using the Easter Bunny Bundle and the Alphabet a La Mode dies. A pretty and colourful card! Another great use of the Watercolour Shapes stamps. These are a versatile set to have for creating great backgrounds for your card fronts. The bunnie images in the Easter Bunny set are very cute!
If you plan on making Easter cards with the Easter Bunny Bundle I’d be ordering now to give yourself plenty of time to get the cards made. Also this bundle may sell out before Easter. here in Australia. It has sold out in the US.
Next card is by Julie. Another terrific layout to keep in your collection of cards. It utilises the Designer series paper well and a great way to use paper offcuts.
Julie has used the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Papers and combined them with the Something Fancy bundle of sayings and layering dies. I am definitely going to use this layout again. Perfect for thankyou cards.
If you gather regularly with a group of friends to make cards, how about trying out a shoe box swap? You will have a fun day and go home with a boxful of new card designs.
