Songbird Builder Punch Art

Try some Songbird Builder punch art. Can you believe this pretty girl image was created using the Stampin’ Up! Songbird Builder punch? The idea was formulated by Cindy Baughman a US demonstrator in Hawaii. One of my team has spent time with Cindy when she visited Hawaii and saw Cindy’s post and challenged those of us with her at our recent retreat to each create the image. A photo would be taken of our completed cards and sent to Cindy.

I admit I am not a huge fan of punch art but a challenge is a challenge so I took the challenge and there is my completed card above and below. Can you work out the songbird builder punch sections? There are two pieces punched for the hair and another two punched for the head and body. Such a clever use of this punch!

It was interesting to compare how we all created our backgrounds. I used the In Color Glimmer paper for my background mat and positioned my punch art piece on a Deckled Rectangles die cut. The Happy Birthday is from the Celebrating You stamp set. This is terrific set for versatility as the sentiments cover a wide variety of occasions.

Now have a look at our six different versions!

Just an ever so slight adjustment of the “hair'” punch pieces makes such a difference to the images appearance. Interesting how we all created different backgrounds and the colours we chose. Different ideas too on how to create the floral hair decoration.

I challenge you to try some Songbird Builder punch art. Like me you might be pleasantly surprised at how much fun it is!

FYI the Songbird Builder punch can be purchased as a bundle with the matching Sweet Songbirds stamp set.

Happy Punching!
