How to create a rainbow card? Think outside the square! I was creating cards using the Majestic Mountain dies by Stampin’Up! when I got to thinking about ways to use the dies in other ways than just die cutting the matching images form the coordinating stamp set Mountain Air. My original thought had been to try the mountain range in black and white card, but then I got thinking about rainbows and here is the result!
Creating the card was a good way to use up scrap pieces of each colour cardstock. Yes it took time to cut each piece and then glue each layer however the finished result was well worth the effort.
Using the largest die from the Stitched Rectangles dies I ran the adhered layers through my Stampin’Cut & Emboss machine. The layers proved to be too thick for the die to cut through but it did create the imprint so I was able to cut up along the edge of the stitched detail and cut out the piece to place onto my folded Basic Black card base.
With all that colour I felt no embellishment was needed just the greeting. That came from the Handsomely Suited stamp set. The dies are from Tasteful Labels and Potted Succulents sets.
So there you are, how to create a rainbow card using Majestic Mountain dies. So give thinking outside the square a go. You might be surprised at what you can come up with!
Happy Stamping!

Are the paper colors all stampin up?
Do you know the names of each?
Hi Jeanine, Yes all the colours are Stampin’ Up! colours. There are some previous In Colors in there as this was created before the current Annual Catalogue. Those colours are Bumblebee and Misty Moonlight.
The remaining colours are all current catalogue card colours. Just play with whatever rainbow of colours you have. See all the current colours if you here. https://www.stampinup.com.au/categories/shop-products/featured-products/paper-packaging/cardstock/individual-color-packs?demoid=4000465
It’s a great card and looks at using the dies very differently!
Great thank you!
Did you use all the in colors? I feel like its a lot of color but it does look awesome.
Thank you.
Hi Jeanine, I only used the in Colors listed above. The rest are regular Stampin’ Up! colours. I went through the colours of card I had and created the array of colour I wanted then started die cutting. You could do it with less layers or repeat the layers depending on the colours you have on hand.
Enjoy creating!
