Do you know how to colour your embossing folder card impression? I had never thought of doing this technique until I had a load of failed attempts at inking up my Pretty Flowers embossing folder to create an inked impression on the negative impression side. Rather than throw them in the bin I played around with adding colour to the positive (raised) areas on the reverse side. I started adding colour with my Stampin’Blends and was so impressed with what I was creating that I kept going.

I very quickly learned to work with a very gentle touch when applying pen to card (Thick Basic White) as the juiciness of the alcohol pens led to bleeding of colour if left in one place for too long. The process did take quite a while but it was a very mindful process and enjoyable as the page filled with colour.

I chose to work with Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green and Pale Papaya Stampin’Blends. Once the colouring was completed the colourful image did not need much more to create a card. A sentiment from Simply Succulents, die cut with a matching die from Potted Succulents and some Elegant Gold Trim and my card was completed.
