Isn’t this the most gorgeous bagalope! My lovely and very clever downline Simone Bartrum showed our team of demonstrators at our last team get together how to make this flower/poinsettia embellishment
as a gift tag. I’ve made heaps since and decided to try them as a topper for a bagalope and was very pleased with the result!
Of course bagalopes are the most convenient little gift bags to make – all out of an envelope! This one has been roller wheeled with the Soft Holly wheel in Garden Green ink.
To make one you cut 1cm off the short end of your envelope and then you score the other 3 sides at 2cm. Fold over all the score lines in both directions and then slip your hand inside the envelope and ease it out into a bag shape – you’ll have 2 little “ears” at the base, fold these down and glue/stick in place. Ease in the sides to make a pouch and you have the basic bagalope!
For the top you can make a topper of coloured card as I have done here. Fro a C6 envelope the top is 7.5 x 8cm, scored at 4cm. You can also use a punched out shape such as the scallop circle, fold it in half and place over the top and fix with a split pin/brad.
The flower is made using the 5 petal punch from Stampin’Up! You need to punch out 4 flowers. Two stay intact the other 2 are cut into individual petals. I sponged Garden Green ink onto the Real Red petal cutouts. Position a brad to hold the 2 intact flowers together – here I used the new brads in the Spring Mini catalogue in Very Vanilla. I’d made so many I’d run out of Choc Chip ones!!!!!!! Then glue the individual petals around underneath the flower shape so as they peek out around the edges. The leaves are done by folding a strip of Garden Green card in half and running through a crimper on an angle. The shape is then punched out using an oval punch placed partially at an angle over the folded section of the strip. Adhere to the back of your flower.
