More Easel Cards

Spread the love

Today I held my Easel Card class and as usual it was lots of fun and chat. The talented ladies attending all made beautiful cards based around the samples I had made. I love seeing how my ideas can be changed around to create something else that looks simply stunning!

These are my samples plus there is the one you can see in an earlier post using the Vintage Vogue stamp set.

It was interesting to find out just how many ways there are to create the “holder” for the easel part of the card. As you can see I’ve used a silver Hodge Podge brad, rhinestone brads, punched eyelet edging (Vintage Vogue card), button and raised punched card.

Stamp sets used are – Pendant Park and On Your Birthday (Chocolate Chip card)
                               – Asian Artistry ( Gable Green card and Certainly Celery card)
                               – Pocket Silhouttes and Inspired by Nature (Tangerine Tango card)

Extra colour was added to the tree in the Pendant Park card by using a technique called “Thumping”.  This is where you ink your stamp up in the base colour and then with a marker pen in a darker colour you thump the pen onto the stamp in a drumming motion. It is a great way to add random colour to a stamp before printing it.

The Asian Artistry stamps were coloured using markers direct to rubber.
