Brayered Manhattan Flower

Spread the love

Hi Everyone! Here is a project I did with some of my terrific stamping buddies this week at a workshop. Don’t these cards look fabulous! I saw this technique on Patty Bennett’s blog quite some time ago and have been meaning to try it out. Coming up with new ideas for my very experienced stamping friends can be a challenge – but this was a big hit!

The technique for the colouring is brayering and you can see a video tutorial on Patty’s blog here – http://pattystamps.com/pattys_stamping_spot/2009/04/brayered-roses-technique-and-video.html

The white cardstock used is Stampin’Up! Shimmery White – it gives a lovely sheen to these cards. You can see it in the current IB&C on page 122. The embossing folder used is Manhattan Flower.

I have used Rose Red and So Saffron ink for the first card and Regal Rose and So Saffron ink for the second card. I was trying to create the rose colours for Double Delight for the first card and Chicago Peace for the second one.
The card is 6×6 Chocolate Chip and the ribbon is Whisper White Organza.

I hope you have fun trying this technique some time. I plan to give it a go again very soon  – I should never have waited so long to give it a go!

See you again soon with some more of my creations.
