Using Stampin’ Up! Cork Papers is lots of fun as you experiment in how many different ways you can create with the product. You can stamp on it. Click here to see my post showing this method. You can die cut it as I have done here or use it as a straight background to your stamped and fussy/die cut images.

The dies I used for this card are the Stitched with Whimsy dies. As you can see in the photo above these dies add a detail to your card, they don’t cut the card. I fussy cut around the stitched detail to create the whimsy edging. Trimming the cork then made the card layout match the whimsy detail I added to the card base.

The stamped image is from Prized Peony. this set has a coordinating die set, Peony which has a die that will cut out the peony image. The die cut will leave more edging around the stamped image. The die slipped when I ran it through my die cutting machine and cut close to the stamped image. Being stubborn I wasn’t going to waste the image so I fussy cat around it and levelled up all the edges.

The base card and ink colour are Merry Merlot. To finish off the card I added the lovely Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots from the current Mini catalogue.

I sent this card this card last week off to one of my team members for her birthday. She loved it!

Try out the Cork Specialty Papers. They are currently available in the Mini Catalogue which runs until January 3. I’d love to see these papers carried over to the next Annual Catalogue. I can but keep my fingers crossed!

Happy Stamping!

Janine
