How to create a Retirement Card is a fairly common query. Probably because how often to you generally have an occasion to create one? When deciding on an image you could choose something that resonates with the new retiree’s retirement plans, especially for the male retiree. Flowers are a good choice for a female retirement cards. Looking at the Hand made cards I received earlier this year when I retired from the nursing profession, they all feature flowers and butterflies.

There is also a terrific stamp set in the Annual catalogue that is perfect for creating retirement cards – Senior Years.

For my card my recipient loves the outdoors so I chose the Mountain Air stamp set along with the coordinating dies, Majestic Mountain. I did do a search on Pinterest for ideas and was inspired by a Mountain Air card posted by US demonstrator Brian King. I’ve changed the colours and the sentiment however I loved the way the image was created and have CASE’d the idea.

A circle was diecut using the Layering Circles dies. The mountain range was stamped across the circle using Smoky Slate ink. On a scrap piece of Basic White card the tree line was stamped in Evening Evergreen. This image was the die cut using the same size circle die as used previously. The treeline tops were then die cut using the appropriate die from the Majestic Mountain die set.

The tree piece was then lined up over the intact circle and glued in place. The sentiment from Senior Years was stamped in Basic Gray onto Smoky slate card and punched out using the Double Oval punch. The paper came from the 6×6 2021-2023 In Color Paper Assortment pack. I am getting so much use out of this years pattern selections. The colour is Soft Succulent and is combined with a Shaded Spruce mat and all put onto a folded Soft Succulent base card.

A few well place embellishments out of a pack of Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials finished off my card.

Hope you like it! If the Mountain Air stamp set is starting to appeal to you check out my other posts using this stamp set here and here.

Happy Stamping!
