Simple Stamping can be really challenging for some crafters and for beginner stampers it is one of the essentials they learn as they gain confidence in their new hobby. Once you have met the skills of Simple Stamping then it is time to start stepping up your card creations by adding in further layers, die cuts, punched shapes, embossing and embellishments. The card top right above was my first version using the Framed for You stamp set. I was away at the time so I had limited supplies with me.
As you can see it is made up of straight forward stamping to create a patterned background, the sentiment is stamped on the same layer and a bit of bling added to lift the effect of the stamping.
For the next version, I added extra stamped images to fill in more of the background, added ribbon and the sentiment was added as a die cut. Lots more bling was added to add a feature to the flower centres. All in all a very easy way to step a card up to the next level. Both cards are pretty in their own right.
Of course the colour combinations you choose to work with will make a huge difference to the appearance of your card too. The colours I used are Granny Apple Green card and ink, Flirty Flamingo card and ink, and Mango Melody ink. When I created these cards I was away for the weekend and these were the only inkpads I had with me!
If you are a new stamper try out this style of card and then give yourself a challenge to create a card with a bit more work in it. You will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it will be if you have the basic steps in place already.
Happy Stamping!
Janine
PS Sadly The Framed For You stamp set has sold out in Australia and is no longer available.
