These cards are created using the Stampin’Up! Spiral Dye stamp and a technique known as “Thumping”. To do this technique –
- Ink up your selected stamp in a light coloured ink
- Choose a marker pen of a darker colour. Holding it in your hand like a drummer would a drumstick, thump the marker pen across the inked stamp moving the stamp around so the direction of your”thumps’ change.
- Importantly now huff on your inked stamp to activate the marker pen which tends to dry quickly and stamp your image.
Your thumped stamped image is done! For my Spiral Dye cards I have used Bumblebee and Pale Papaya to ink the stamp and then thumped each image with Magenta Madness marker pen. My other card used Magenta Madness and Just Jade ink and were thumped using Misty Moonlight marker pen. You do need to look a bit harder to see the effect on that card!
Add a card mat and base card, a sentiment, Grand Kid used here, some Opal embellishments and card done!

Happy Stamping!
